Biography
Tony Marvelli grew up in Sacramento, Ca. and in fifth grade he started playing trumpet. After graduating American River College with an Associate of Arts degree in music, Tony studied at the University of North Texas for a Bachelors of Music in Jazz Studies Performance. While in Texas he worked with several cover bands, pit orchestras, salsa bands, latin bands, and different jazz ensembles from large to small, including the famous Guy Lombardo Orchestra under the direction of Al Pierson. Tony did some work on cruise ships for Carnival, working in the show band. He has played at the Sacramento Jazz Festival nine years straight including backing up Jo Ann Castle, Lin Biviano and Stan Mark. As a trumpet instructor Tony has taught for three and a half years for the Celina Independent School District grades 5 to 12. He has recently toured with Engelbert Humperdinck through Asia and the USA. January 2006 Tony performed with legendary singer/songwriter Paul Anka.
